WHEN TO GO
Malaysia is hot and humid all year. If you want to enjoy the beaches and avoid the rains between November and January, the time to see turtles on the east coast is between May and September.

Malaysia’s many lakes, ponds and surrounding seas make it an anglers’ paradise. Popular sites include Templer’s Park in Selangor, Tasik Pedu in Kedah, Tasik Kenyir in Terengganu and Tasik Chini and Tasik Bera in Pahang’s Taman Negara.
Cave exploring is one of the most alluring and enticing adventures.
Diving in Malaysia is very popular. Pulau Redang is a great place to watch baby reef sharks and sea horses. Expert divers can head for Pulau Sipadan. Mountain climbing is a pleasant though somewhat strenuous way to discover Malaysia’s diverse and unique natural landscape.
White water rafting in Padas and Kiulu Rivers is a possibility for rafting enthusiasts.
Kuala Lumpur
This cosmopolitan capital of Malaysia is a very happening city. The twin Petronas Towers – the tallest building in the world – dominates the skyline. You will see ultra-modern skyscrapers standing magnificently next to rows and rows of quaint old shop houses. Haute cuisine beside hawker stalls. Kuala Lumpur presents an interesting proposition for the traveler.
Langkawi
Out of the 104 islands of Malaysia, Langkawi is the largest. Unspoilt and rustic, it is a tropical paradise with crystal clear emerald waters, azure skies, dense tropical rainforests, and fantastic limestone formations. The most popular island is Pulau Langkawi famous for its beautiful sandy beaches. Duty-free shopping and snorkeling are the other attractions.
Malacca
Malaysia’s most historic city has a timeless charm with intriguing Chinese streets, antique shops, temples and nostalgic reminders of the now-departed European colonial powers. The old part of Malacca is a fascinating area to wander around, and this is where you’ll find many of Malacca’s famous antique shops.
Penang Island
A must see is Fort Cornwallis with its many cannons retrieved from local pirates. For the best view of the city and the island, catch the funicular railway up Penang Hill which rises 830m (2722ft) above Georgetown and provides cool relief from the sticky heat below. There are pleasant gardens, a hotel, a Hindu temple and a mosque at the top.

KUALA LUMPUR
DAY TOUR OF MALACCA
Duration Approx 9 ½ hours
This tour begins with a visit to St Peter’s Church. Then drive past the largest seventeenth century Chinese cemetery outside China, stopping at the Foothill to view Sultan’s Well. Next, proceed to ‘Porta de Santiago’ and the ruins of St Paul’s Church, lined with seventeenth century Dutch tombstones. Next is ‘Red Square’, a salmon pink Dutch administrative building which today houses the Melaka Museum and other government offices.
DAY TOUR OF GENTING HIGHLANDS
Duration Approx 8 hours
A relaxing ninety minute drive through dense tropical vegetation brings us to the summit. Upon reaching the Highlands, visit the casino and join in the excitement.
Also within the same complex is an amusement centre, a sixteen lane bowling alley, a theatre and a massage parlour. For a bird’s eye view of the mountains, take a ride on the cable car. Outside the casino complex, the atmosphere is altogether different. Designed for family fun, a beautifully landscaped lake takes centre stage.
Enjoy a leisurely boat ride around the lake, take the kids on a mini train ride or have fun on the bumper cars. We depart for Kuala Lumpur at 3.30 pm.
SUNWAY LAGOON THEME PARK
Duration Approx 6 hours
Located in Bandar Sunway, Sunway Lagoon is a recreation of a sunken mining wasteland. The theme park’s emphasis is largely water-based with wild adventure rides and amusement games.
At Sunway Lagoon, you can hurtle down a waterslide, drift by on the Lazy River Ride or Tube Ride, listen to the thundering roar of the man-made waterfall or thrill to the surf of the Surf Pool.
MANGROVE BOAT CRUISE ON THE KILIM RIVER
Duration Approx 5 hours
A relaxing boat cruise off the north coast of Langkawi. Departing from the Kilim River delta, this cruise with informative narration by our resort naturalist skirts the coast where sea birds and crustaceans inhabit the rock cliffs.
The cruise then passes by some exotic rock pinnacles and visits a box canyon through a flooded cave. The boat continues on to a fish farm and a charcoal kiln, a local cottage industry that has spawned a small kampung, deep within the mangroves.
PUTRAJAYA WITH KL TOWER & MINES WONDERLAND
Duration Approx 4 hours
Named after Malaysia’s first Prime Minister, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, this landmark complex stretches over 11,320 acres.
The Kuala Lumpur (KL) Tower, is 421 meters in height and is the tallest telecommunications tower in the world. Visitors can get a spectacular bird’s eye view of Kuala Lumpur and its vicinity.
Next visit Mines Wonderland, a theme park located in Mines Resort City. A major attraction at The Mines Wonderland is the Snow House, indulge in bits of snowball throwing or to slide down a snow slide. There are carvings of penguins, snow goose, reindeer and the Arc de Triomphe of Paris.
LANGKAWI ISLAND HOPPING (HALF DAY BOAT TOUR)

Take this half day boat tour to discover Langkawi by sea. The tour will take you to three nearby islands, cruising the beautiful Langkawi archipelago.
PENANG BUTTERFLY FARM & BOTANICAL GARDEN

A tour that is specially designed for nature lovers. Our first stop is the spectacular Penang Butterfly Farm. It is a sanctuary for over 120 species of rare and exotic butterflies.

FOOD & DRINK
Satays (meat kebabs in spicy peanut sauce) are a Malaysian creation and they’re found everywhere.
Other dishes include fried soybean curd in peanut sauce, sour tamarind fish curry, fiery curry prawns and spiced curried meat in coconut marinade.
The variety of wonderful tropical fruits and fruit juices available is huge, and strange sweet concoctions include cendol (sugar syrup, coconut milk and green noodles) and ais kacang (beans and jellies topped with shaved ice, syrups and condensed milk).
SHOPPING
Best buys include pewter, batik, duty free items, electrical products, sportswear and handicrafts.
For a very different experience visit the night markets or pasar malam which begin their trading activities in the late afternoon. Bargaining is a common practice.
Popular shopping areas are Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Tun Cheng Lock, Petaling Street, and Jalan H.S. Lee.
The Shopping Carnival in March/April in Kuala Lumpur and other major cities in Malaysia is an opportunity time to pick up great bargains.
